Maureen Cole Trunk Show!

Maureen Cole is a former member of South Bay Quilters Guild and will be visiting from her new home in Carson City, NV to share some of the quilts she has made over the last 40 years. Besides SBQG, Maureen has been an active member of several quilting groups over the years, including the Orange County Quilt Guild, Wearable Art Connection, Quilts on the Wall Fiber Artists, and three different friendship groups. Her quilts have been shown at Houston and Paducah and have toured twice as part of Fine Focus. In 2002 she won a third place ribbon and cash award at the IQA Show in Houston in the small art quilt category. She has also won Viewer’s Choice awards at several of our SBQG shows. Maureen will bring with her a large sampling of her quilts and tell the stories behind them and the lessons learned in their making.

The South Bay Quilters Guild general meeting is Tues, May 11, 2010. Guests are always welcome (for a small fee of $5 per meeting). The doors open at 6pm, and the meeting is called to order at 7pm. Members are encouraged to come early to socialize, check out or return guild library books, or sign up to participate in guild activities. The general meetings are held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 301 Avenue D, Redondo Beach, CA.
