ROOTS/ROUTES was beautiful displayed as a Special Exhibit
Tuesday, August 16, 2016
L A Quilt Show, San Pedro, CA
The venue was something special as you can tell from the photos.
A large airy artist space where quilts hung from the rafters; lots of space to walk around and view the exhibits and vendors.
Ellen November was the featured Artist. She exhibited her series Venue quilts showing the special attributes of places in the South Bay and Santa Monica.
Each quilt incorporated "shirt fabric and buttons", a featured style element.
Volunteers Laurie Mutalipassi, Laurie Bucher, Joann Sarachman, Carol Churchill, and Samantha Churchill introduced the public to Quilts on the Wall with a sampling of their work and brochures and a friendly invitation to our September meeting.

Solo Exhibit at Soft Expressions Features Sharon Jaeger's Patterns
Members of Quilts on the Wall enjoyed a bird themed solo exhibit by Artist Sharon Jaeger. Retired from a highly technical engineering career, Sharon knew her love of birds would lead her her second love, art quilting. Sharon creates finely pieced backgrounds for her main subject - birds.
Sharon was encouraged to design patterns so her whimsical patterns could be enjoyed by all. Sharon's husband actively supported her solo exhibit, picking the first piece visitors saw as they ascended the stairs at Soft Expressions.
